A Look at Wanee 2012

The Wanee Festival has established itself as one of the best in the country. One secret to the success of the festival is it’s always amazing lineup peppered with some of the most talented and influential musicians of all time. This year is no exception with the Allman Brothers and Furthur headlining two nights, as well as such unbelievable acts like Gov’t Mule, Mickey Hart, and Bruce Hornsby.

In addition to the stellar lineup, Wanee has many other exciting things to offer, including a beautiful campground among the giant live oaks, a river fit for dipping and canoeing, and the return of Wednesday Happy Hour.  This year’s Wanee Wednesday Happy Hour will be held April 18th at 5pm at the Engine Barn Stage, with entertainment provided by Cope, Flannel Church (Duane Trucks), and Beebs and her Money Makers.  The best part is, the event is covered in the price of your 3 day pass, and will be an excellent way to kick off the weekend.  If you wish to camp there is a small fee from the park to camp an additional night, but this is a great way to get settled in early and get the party started!

Wanee is also hosting an exciting workshop held by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jorma Kaukonen.  This is a unique experience where some of the most unbelievable talents of the festival will work with seasoned musicians as well as budding newby’s to harness their skills and gain renewed inspiration around their music.  This is the first year Wanee is hosting an “on the road” version of Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch, and it is a very exciting addition to this beautiful event.

This is truly a music-lovers festival.  The good vibes and community feel that we have all come to expect from a great festival are alive and well at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park.  See you all at Wanee!

Wanee 2012 will be held April 19th-21st at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. For a full lineup and ticket information go to  http://www.waneefestival.com/
