Hangout Music Festival

Hangout offers great music on the golden sands of Gulf shores every year for a weekend in May. It’s all happening on the public beaches off E. Beach Boulevard.

Every year, the festival offers an insane lineup of amazing EDM, hip hop, pop, alternative, and rock performers. Apart from great tunes and a seaside vibe, Hangout offers a bunch of things to do too.

You can try out the roller disco, hit the tropical spa, or get hitched at the onsite wedding chapel. Uniquely, the event also offers a puppy kissing booth that raises funds for a local animal shelter. Of course, you’re free to join in all the watersports available offshore too.

BBQ & Blues Festival

This shindig combines the best that Bessemer has to offer. Find blues tunes and wonderful BBQ grilled by local maestro Van Sykes.

It’s a family affair where you’ll find plenty to keep music lovers of all ages happy, from blow-up guitars to Bundt cakes on sale at the numerous onsite stalls.

Every year in April, this well-attended event attracts both local blues acts and top names to the small town of Bessemer.

Not a lot of dancing on the tables goes on at this one-day event, so pack your picnic basket and your blankie and enjoy a low-key day of reveling in the mellow vibe.

WhistleStop Weekend

At the Whistlestop weekend the BBQ keeps coming all weekend long in Huntsville. The main aim of this weekend’s to sort the men from the boys when it comes to Barbequing meat, but the nightly music’s a bonus.

WhistleStop prides itself on including a little bit of everything in the line-up so anything can happen. The festival aims to embrace music from all genres as far as possible.

Like most Alabama events, this one has a good cause at its heart too. All portion of the profits goes toward local education programs. Pencil these two days of family fun into your calendar for the first weekend in May every year.

Rock the South

Catch classic rock performances with a southern vibe in Cullman next June. Rock the South lives up to its name with live performers on a huge stage lined with LED lights.

The event was set up to celebrate the town’s recovery from a devastating weather event, and it’s still creating a storm almost ten years later. Rock the South has two main objectives which are celebrating the unique southern style and giving back to the community.

It does a fine job of both, so who are we to complain if we get to have a grand old time in the process? You can look forward to enjoying southern rock and country music by local as well as established acts.

Big names flock to Rock the South like bees to a honeypot with every year featuring some of America’s hottest acts. So, if Sweet Home Alabama’s your jam, put Rock the South at the top of your festival hit list.
