Heading to a magical land…Electric Forest
If you are one of the few who were lucky enough to score an Electric Forest 2015 pass, you are in for an incredibly magical weekend.
If not, time to get ready for some serious FOMO! All hope is not lost if you’re still looking for tickets or a way to attend the fest. Many vendors are still looking for volunteers and people will always be selling tickets until the last minute. Check out Magnolia Miracle, CashForTrade or any other face value ticket exchange communities. NEVER OFFER OVER FACE VALUE! That’s how to solve the scalper problem!
Anyway, on to the fun stuff ? First of all, make sure to check out the EF Subreddit’s Complete Guide to the festival. These guys chat about EF all year, go to lots of other music festivals and have made some great suggestions. I’ll highlight a few…but here’s the entire pdf!!!
Travel: When arriving to Electric Forest, make sure to drive extremely carefully in the surrounding areas. The town the fest is held in is small, so they typically expect to generate a lot of revenue this weekend in citations. Make sure your lights are on, use your blinkers, double check that your license plate tag is current before getting on the road, drive at or below the speed limit, make sure your view is clear-both behind through the back window and in front, don’t have anything hanging from your mirror (this is a big one they use to pull over people who look like they’re heading to a festival). Check out these infographics from The Festival Lawyer to make sure you know what to say and how to act if approached by police at a music festival or on the road to one.
Weather: still a little far out to say with much certainty. There’s a chance of rain each day ranging from 20%-60% with highs in the upper 70’s and lows in the lower 60’s. Sounds pretty perfect to me! Check the weather for Rothbury here
Experience: One thing that makes Electric Forest so magical is all of the little extra things you will find hidden inside the festival. I cannot begin to list them all. Make sure to take some time during the day and night to just walk around the forest in between the stages. Lots of art and performers will be wandering around spreading unique joy! This also goes for exploring music at EF. The lineup is so diverse! There’s something for people with any type of music taste. Don’t be scared to go out and check out some acts you’ve never heard of. Here are some suggestions from me to check out (with SoundCloud links for easy discovery)!
