5 Tips on How Not to Get Sick at a Music Festival

Music has the power to evoke powerful emotions. It doesn’t matter whether you’re listening to rock, classical, or jazz!

Not only can it fend off depression, but it can also relieve stress. Given that, why wouldn’t you want to immerse yourself in some tunes?

Thinking of going to a music festival? Worried about getting sick while you’re there? While that’s always a possibility, there are things that you can do to protect yourself.

Want to know how not to get sick? Then make sure to keep reading—we’ll be going over everything that you need to know below!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re at a music festival. If anything, you want to stay healthy so that you can have fun while you’re there!

1. Wash Your Hands Frequently

Washing your hands is one of the best things that you can do to protect yourself against germs. Remember, just because your hands look clean, doesn’t mean that they are.

The last thing that you want is to touch your face after touching a contaminated object—that’s how you get sick!

As far as hand washing goes, you want to make sure that you’re using enough soap. Create a lather and rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds. When you’re finished, dry them with a paper towel.

2. Use Hand Sanitizer When You Can’t Wash Your Hands

Can’t get to the sink? Then use hand sanitizer—it’s the next best thing. Ideally, you want to use one that’s at least 60% alcohol.

Apply a generous amount to your palm and rub it all over with your hands until they’re dry. Keep in mind, however, that it might not be as effective if your hands are greasy or dirty.

 3. Avoid Sharing Foods and Drinks

Avoid sharing your food and drinks with others, no matter how delicious they are. They can easily be contaminated with germs, which can cause sickness.

The same thing goes for eating utensils such as forks. Make sure that everyone’s using their own!

4. Go Home If You Don’t Feel Well

Just because you feel fine in the morning, doesn’t mean that you won’t get sick later in the day. If that happens, go home. Get some rest so that your body can heal.

Missing a few performances is better than spreading the germs around!

5. Don’t Touch Your Face

Make a habit of not touching your face. Pathogens that are on your hands can easily enter the body through the eyes, nose, and mouth!

Consider wearing gloves if you have to—it’ll serve as a physical reminder of where your fingers don’t belong.

Protecting Yourself From Germs
