Imagine Music Festival 2018
The Saga Continues
For the last 5 years, Atlanta’s EDM scene (us included) have cheered for Imagine Music Festival. The festival has been through venue changes, date changes, and countless trials, all the while being organized by a truly independent promotions company in Atlanta. The fact that the festival is still around today is quite a feat of accomplishment in itself. Georgia has been home to MAMMOTH festivals like TomorrowWorld and widely loved ones like CounterPoint. However, each of these has ultimately bowed out of the race. It’s almost like IMF is the last man standing and we have no choice but to root for them. And that’s exactly what we’ll continue to do!
The 5th installment of IMF looks to be the biggest yet! While there were setbacks last year (check out our toiled review of 2017: HERE), the festival has been very reactive in their efforts to overcome. Since the festival is located at Atlanta Motor Speedway, there are already roads, plumbing, and other infrastructure to support camping and festivities for thousands of people. It seems that the organizers issues arise from personnel or communication with security and volunteers. Our hope is that those plans will be more thought out and executed efficiently on this go-round!
Let’s get back to what makes this year the BIGGEST! Atlanta and country-wide electronic fans have come to expect at least one thing out of Imagine: a HUGE lineup. This year has not disappointed any. The daily lineup was recently announced: Armin Van Buuren, Galantis, & Weiss are Friday’s headliners, Bassnectar, Alesso, Zhu, & Green Velvet are Saturday’s headliners, and Kaskade, RL Grime, Zeds Dead, Griz, Oliver Heldens, & Paul Oakenfold round out a massive Sunday.
The festival boasts an incredible lineup across a handful of stages. There are bound to be conflicts…did you see how many headliners are on Sunday?!? But one good thing about having the festival out in the middle of no where (right outside Atlanta) is that the stages can rock until 3am Friday & Saturday, and midnight on Sunday. And of course, if you’re still raving after those hours – there’s a silent disco to keep you bopping!
We can’t wait to see what’s in store – stay tuned for more updates.
