Your Guide to the First Okeechobee Music Festival

First time festivals seem to be popping up everywhere now-a-days, Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival has risen above the cluttered festival market claiming it’s own 3 days of fame.

Okeechobee has generated lots of buzz amongst festival goers with it’s incredible line up, beautiful location, late night sets and radiant positivity. Located in Okeechobee, Florida’s Sunshine Grove all are welcome to share the wondrous experience and become a true Okeecho-being. Trust us on this one, you don’t want to miss it! It’s being produced by the creators of Bonnaroo…so, we’re inclined to have high expectations!

Line up:
OK, let’s talk about this line up. Headliners SkrillexMumford & SonsKendrick Lamar and Bassnectar already show how diverse the Okeechobee experience is going to be. Skrillex and Bassnectar have been ruling the electronic scene for quite some time now. Both artists DJ their little hearts out pushing the envelope of their musical talents each and every show. Expect to be wowed by both Skrillex and Bassnectar not only musically, but also visually. Mumford & Sons will be a perfect place to jam out with your buddies to some good ole’ rock. Kendrick Lamar should be a must-see on your schedule as well! This hip-hop artist will capture your soul with his deep, emotional, pull-on-your-heart and mind strings type of music. Aside from the big names check out Bedsidefor some chill house vibes, the psych-pop duo SWIMM to get sent into a trance and Lettuce for your much needed dose of classic funk.

Okeechobee Festival Grounds and Camping Info:
Since Okeechobee is a first year festival we will all be in the same boat when it comes to mapping the grounds and camping. To get an overall feel of the festival site’s setup here is some info to help you prior to arrival!

  1. You can park your car by your tent. If you are a day pass person you will be directed to a designated day parking area.
  2. Your campsite is 20×22 ft. and will be assigned to you upon arrival, so make sure you drive in with your dancing partners, if that’s who you want to camp with!
  3. Showers are available for $7 bucks GA and FREE for VIP!
  4. No campfires (sorry guys) but you CAN bring grills or camp stoves – problem solved!
  5. The temperature ranges from high 80s to mid 50s so pack appropriately and stay hydrated!
  6. Because the festival camping grounds are in a natural wooded area expect bugs and wildlife. Respect them and they will respect you! Remember it’s their home too, we share this earth!

A few fun places you should visit during the festival:
Aquachobee
